A Delegation of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of Qingdao Municipal People's Congress Visited Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research

LIU Pengzhao, Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of Qingdao Municipal People's Congress, led a delegation to visit Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (Hereinafter referred to as "the Academy") on May 8. Other participants in the event included: WU Dongshan, Vice Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of Qingdao Municipal People's Congress and Director of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Office of the Standing Committee of Qingdao Municipal People's Congress; CHAO Yongqiang, Director of the Higher Education Division of Qingdao Municipal Education Bureau; DONG Jinwu, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Development and Construction Headquarters of Lingshan Bay Film and Television Cultural Industrial Zone; as well as relevant comrades from the departments of the Education, Science, Culture and Public Health Committee of Qingdao Municipal People's Congress, Qingdao Municipal Education Bureau and the University Construction Team of University-City Integration Office in the West Coast New Area. LIU Weidong, Secretary of Party Branch and Assistant to the Dean of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research went together with them for the investigation.

Researchers visited the Design Laboratory of the International Industrial Research Department and the "Sowing and Sprouting, Ripening and Harvesting - Special Exhibition for the Anniversary of the Founding the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University" sponsored by the Academy, and listened to its establishment concept and development plan.

Secretary LIU Weidong said that since the hosting of the meeting of the Management Committee, the Academy has spared no efforts to promote various work in accordance with the instructions of leaders of Qingdao Municipality, Tsinghua University and Qingdao West Coast New Area. It endeavors to build a talent community and technology transfer and commercialization platform for Tsinghua University in Qingdao on the foundation of all-disciplinary resources of the University, so as to promote the deep integration of industry, university and research, the innovation of art and science, and empower the industrial growth of Qingdao.

LIU Pengzhao fully affirmed the Academy's business development and development planning. He stressed that Qingdao put extensive cooperation and exchanges with Tsinghua University on the top agenda, and the Academy continues to adhere to its development orientation, find a proper development path, fueling the cooperation between Qingdao and Tsinghua University and growing itself into a demonstration base soon. Also, the Academy will actively introduce the world-class resources of Tsinghua University to Qingdao, and make greater contributions to Qingdao's socioeconomic growth, higher education discipline construction and industrial upgrading.
